I picked up this historic sweater for another collector and had to take the opportunity to fully document it before shipping it out.
Worn for the three road games of the 2024 opening
round against Winnipeg, this jersey is etched in
league and franchise history in several ways. While wearing it, Nichushkin:
- set, with Arturri Lekhonen, a new NHL record for longest playoff-opening goal streak by a pair of teammates (5 games)
- Started his NHL record-tying seven-game playoff goal streak, a streak that is also a franchise record
- Tied Joe Sakic and Mikko Rantanen's franchise record for most goals in a series (7)
Val was a huge reason why the Avalanche, in the first round against the Jets, became the fourth team in NHL history to score five or more goals in each of the first five games of a series. The team's 28-goal output was also the most in a five-game series since 1979.
The jersey features medium wear and is heavily photomatched and videomatched.
