André Burakovsky
2022 Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Final home jersey: Game 1 overtime goal, worn in Games 1 and 2
(photomatched and videomatched)
Eighty-three seconds.
André Burakovsky put the Colorado Avalanche on the path to its third Stanley Cup when he ripped home a shot 83 seconds into overtime in Game 1 on June 15, 2022. The electrifying snapshot is one of many highlights and notable moments attached to this photomatched, videomatched and hockey card-matched jersey from the Avs' memorable 2022 Cup run. The jersey features light wear, including photomatched board burns on the left sleeve, several burns on the chest near the crest, and a substantial number of photomatched and videomatched loose threads.
Burky's overtime game-winning goal in Game 1 was the fastest Cup Final OT goal since 2011 and helped the Avs tie the best win-loss record ever through 15 playoff games (13-2). It was also the first playoff OT goal of Burky's career.
The Swedish right-winger added to it in the first period of Game 2 with a spectacular pass to set up a Val Nichushkin goal, then potted another goal of his own. Burky's Game 2 goal was the 20th playoff goal of his career.
Burky's standout play was a major reason Mark Messier called the Avs' 7-0 Game 2 blowout on June 18, 2022, "the most dominant, best team game performance I've ever seen in my lifetime." The game saw the Avs set eight records:
1. most total goals by defensemen through 16 playoff games in NHL history
2. best team record through 15 playoff games and 16 playoff games in NHL history (tie)
3. most playoff points by a defenseman in franchise history (Cale Makar, 24 points in 16 GP)
4. first Avs D to score a powerplay and shorthanded goal in the same playoff game (Cale Makar, second D in NHL history to do so)
5. First player in NHL history to score 2+ points in all four Game Ones (Gabe Landeskog)
6. longest home playoff points streak by an Avs player (Nate MacKinnon, 9 games)
7. most hits by an Avs player in a single playoff game (Darren Helm, 12 hits)
Game 2 also marked the most goals (7) future Hall of Famer Andrei Vasilevskiy has ever given up in a single game, spoiling his 100th career playoff game. He became the second-youngest goalie to reach the 100-game mark, behind Patrick Roy.
